The Open Studios & Reception event aims to foster a vibrant artistic community by connecting individuals who appreciate art. Whether you are an art lover, collector, or simply curious about the creative process, this event promises an enriching experience.

About MINT Atlanta: In 2006, MINT was founded by undergraduate students at Atlanta universities. The organization was established to create a space for emerging artists and patrons to find their voices. Over the past 16 years, we have presented over 1,000 contemporary and experimental artists through our programs and exhibitions. We provide creatives opportunities to present work in both traditional and alternative media, such as installation, sculpture, drawing, painting, photography, film, literature, and performance. Our rigorously curated exhibitions and projects, community art programs, and open calls for artists continue to engage and challenge the contemporary Atlanta art scene.

Mint’s mission is to make Atlanta a destination for the arts: a cultural hub where artists thrive, patrons experience transformative work, and communities are activated and engaged. Mint believes that art enriches the world, and our dynamic programming, exhibitions, community partnerships and outreach serves artists and art enthusiasts alike. We make space for artists to take risks, be curious, and create brilliant and challenging work reflective of our city. Leap year is Mint's flagship program, having served 30 artists since 2011. This year, mint engaged a diverse curatorial jury of nine Atlanta arts leaders to review and make selections among over 140 applications submitted by visual artists from across the city for participation in our year-long residency program. Through leap year, mint provides the artists with free dedicated studio space for one year; a two-week residency; opportunities for public art and community engagement; studio visits with guest curators and critics; an established artists to serve as a mentor; and a professional solo gallery exhibition.

Mint is proud to offer up to 30 exhibitions annually, showcasing 250 local emerging artists annually. These include but are not limited to our annual juried exhibition for emerging artists, our annual postcard Pin-up shows, a national open call, six open call exhibitions, and our annual invitational. In addition to these ongoing exhibitions, mint maintains at least one active show in one of its four gallery spaces throughout the year. Each year Mint's intern program provided 10-15 students, artists, and aspiring art professionals an opportunity to gain skills and experiences in a gallery and arts nonprofit setting. Mint-terns work closely with mint staff and leadership in all areas of the organization, including gallery management, exhibition installation, social media strategy, fundraising, and program development. Mint-terns are invited to participate in the studio artist community and have multiple opportunities to show their work at mint, including a culminating group exhibition. The intern program ties into mint's mission to support and engage the creative community at all levels of development.
